Environmental Site Assessments
Environmental Site Assessments
Scaada offers three key environmental site assessment services to provide clients with a comprehensive understanding of potential risks and liabilities.
The Preliminary Site Investigations commence with a desktop study, utilising publicly available environmental data to identify potential contaminants and ecological issues. This initial assessment is complemented by an on-site visit involving a thorough walk-around to grasp the site layout and identify areas of concern.
Following this, Detailed Site Investigations take a deeper dive into the environmental conditions, encompassing the evaluation of contaminant presence, assessment of potential impacts on ecosystems, and meticulous adherence to environmental regulations.
Lastly, Scaada conducts Environmental Due Diligence Assessments, undertaking comprehensive evaluations to thoroughly assess the environmental risks and liabilities associated with a site. Through these services, Scaada ensures that clients are well informed about potential environmental challenges and equipped to make informed decisions regarding their projects.
Scaada’s EMP involves a comprehensive site visit to ascertain the layout and operations, with a specific focus on identifying elements that could contribute to potential contamination.
This meticulous examination serves as the foundation for crafting a tailored management plan, encompassing not only general EMP but also specialised Construction EMP and Operation EMP.
The resulting plan is intricately designed to identify and address risks and hazards associated with the site and its operations.
It provides detailed strategies for mitigating these risks, offering a proactive approach to lowering potential environmental risks and efficiently managing any incidents that may arise during construction or operational activities.
The breakdown of organic material in landfills can produce unsafe levels of gases, predominantly methane and carbon dioxide. At certain levels, these landfill gases can represent a flammable risk or impact air quality by displacing oxygen.
A landfill gas risk assessment may be required to investigate the potential health risks posed to workers operating on a site or for individuals residing within a certain distance from an operational or former landfill site.
Scaada’s consultants have years of experience in performing a variety of landfill gas risk assessments and investigations, as well as designing tailored management plans to reduce and control landfill gas levels and any associated site concerns.
Scaada’s experienced consultants, skilled in environmental science and engineering, have a deep understanding of the legal obligations and national guidelines surrounding water quality, water management plans and practices. Scaada works with governments, local authorities, water companies and developers to manage water resources effectively.
This is achieved through both practical means and innovative solutions for the collection, treatment and delivery or water recycling, re-distribution or removal.
In regards to removal (as that what we’ve done), we attend site to either categories the waste within the tank before removal. if already empty, after the removal of the tanks, we complete validation sampling of the soil surrounding the tank to assess any contamination occurred.
Scaada’s skilled environmental consultants are highly experienced in supporting clients in managing waste and hazard challenges, designing tailored risk management plans to control or remove any hazards identified and, if required, deliver a complete end-to-end project management service.
When managing waste and hazards, Scaada supports the client to navigate a range of complicated environmental compliance challenges while ensuring minimal impact on the natural environment.
Scaada‘s environmental consultant team is highly experienced in supporting clients in managing water quality concerns.
To establish the causal factors of poor water quality, Australian standard water analysis is completed on a set schedule and a treatment plan is implemented to remedy the issues uncovered.
Scaada’s team regularly supports clients in managing soil contamination issues, which is particularly important on sites previously used for industrial, commercial or agricultural purposes. Hazardous substances have often contaminated these sites and, as such, can pose a risk to a person’s health via direct ingestion, volatilisation or through groundwater systems.
Scaada designs a tailored EMP for classification and site remediation and, if required, delivers a complete end-to-end project management service.
