Response

Scaada focuses on providing environmental control assistance, managing affected areas, and establishing emergency control provisions. The response phase prevents major environmental fallout, stabilising the situation, and meets the immediate needs of affected areas. Scaada reacts promptly when a disaster has occurred.

Action

1. Assess the Situation: Identify any immediate hazards, such as fires, leaks, or chemical spills. Assist in determining what type of cargo the train was carrying and any potential associated dangers.
2. Ensure Safety: Assist in managing explosions, chemical leaks, or other immediate threats. Guidance in establishing a safety perimeter to keep unauthorised personnel away from the scene. Ensure the safety of responders by providing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
3. Contain Hazards: If leaks or spills exist, work to contain and mitigate them to prevent further environmental and ecological damage. Isolate and secure any hazardous materials involved. Use appropriate containment and clean-up procedures.
