Senior Environmental Consultant – Team Leader

Right now, our team needs a dynamic individual to join us as a Senior Environmental Consultant – Team Leader.  The selected applicant will take a critical role in leading our land contamination team and will be the driver of growth in this area of our business.

What Type of Leader Are You?

As a Senior Environmental Consultant – Team Leader in the Contaminated Land Assessment Team, you will take an active role in leading the delivery of projects and services.  The types of duties you will excel in, and embrace are:

  • Technical guidance to mid-level and junior staff to support the successful execution of projects.
  • Mentoring to team members in relation to the broad skills required of a consultant, both technical and professional.
  • Active participation in business development, including responsibility for building client relationships that secure repeat work, along with winning new work that supports your own professional growth and others in the team.

The successful applicant to this position will have a broad range of skills that highlight your position in this specialised team.  As an individual you will have personal attributes that embrace teamwork, leadership, collaboration, and positive impact.  Your specific role will include but not be limited to:

  • Overseeing the effective planning and execution of complex projects. You will provide technical guidance to support others on such projects as well as perform the role of Project Manager for our larger and more complex projects or Project Director and client-facing roles where appropriate. You will be supported by other senior technical and project delivery leaders, and you will support more junior members of the team.

Our expectations of you continued

  • You will have an in-depth knowledge of the regulatory framework and technical elements of the contaminated land sector within Victoria, and a familiarity with the corresponding elements in other states. You will take an active role in mentoring others to develop technical skills and knowledge amongst the broader team.
  • You will provide leadership to the broader Contaminated Land Assessment Team and collaborate with other Sections within our broader business to help deliver successful project outcomes for our clients.
  • You will have land contamination consultancy experience, a Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Environmental Science (BSc) degree or similar, proven experience in an Environmental or Sustainability role, and hold a current Australian driver’s licence.

Occupational Hygiene Technician

(Band 1,2 & 3)

The Occupational Hygiene Technician is responsible for the below items:

RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Undertaking field-based activities including asbestos air monitoring, asbestos visual clearances and lead particulate air monitoring.
  • Collection of asbestos and lead samples following approved sample plans and industry-accepted methods.
  • Documenting field work for sampling, monitoring, and OH&S with attention to detail and data quality.
  • Completing fieldwork in a safe and controlled manner in accordance with Scaada field procedures, Health and Safety Plans (HASP) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
  • Field results in data entry.
  • Completing field and office-based reporting requirements and send to clients following approval from senior colleagues.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team and general business and administrative duties.
  • Completing lab works relevant to asbestos air monitoring.

KNOWLEDGE /SKILLS

The Occupational Hygiene Technician has the ability to work effectively in a range of challenging environments, problem-solving skills and providing a high level of service to all stakeholders is essential to the role.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team, and autonomously.
  • Driving on a daily basis within regional and metropolitan areas of Victoria.
  • Excellent time management, and an eagerness to acquire new skills and meet new challenges.
  • Self-motivated to complete challenging field programs • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A diploma in HSE is desirable.
  • Construction White Card.
