Project Scope

Scaada in partnership with Symal Infrastructure were engaged by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to provide soil and groundwater remediation services following a fire at an illicit chemical storage facility.   The fire destroyed the infrastructure across the site and impacted nearby properties and subsurface conditions in the immediate vicinity of the incident.
The EPA inherited the site as a result of criminal activities resulting in enforced seizure of the location.  The site had significant soil and groundwater impact along with friable asbestos issues. The project required the collaboration of numerous stakeholders involved in order to achieve the final outcome.

Project Outcome

Scaada, together with external stakeholders were able to successfully remediate the site as per the project KPIs and handed back the site to the client to be sold and reused as commercial/industrial land.
